Door opens for Lions to break Cowboys fans' hearts in Maxx Crosby mock trade
Are the Detroit Lions going to go against everything they've worked to build in order to bring on another pass rusher by this year's trade deadline?

Probably not. They have Marcus Davenport slated to return sometime in November or December, Aidan Hutchinson looks to be fully back from his 2024 broken leg, newcomers to the conversation like Al-Quadin Muhammad are proving to be ample sidekicks to him, and Alim McNeill just returned to add even more punch to their defensive front.
Still, a name to monitor for the Lions in that respect is Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby, who isn't getting shopped right now, but could be depending on how low Las Vegas sinks in coming games. His name was included in a mock trade by Bleacher Report's Moe Moton.
Bleacher Report offers hefty Lions package up for Crosby
Moton's proposal:
Detroit Lions Get: Edge Maxx Crosby
Las Vegas Raiders Get: 2026 1st-round pick, 2026 4th-round pick, 2027 1st-round pick, 2027 5th-round pick, DT Roy Lopez
Moton adds regarding this proposal, "The Lions have $25.1 million in cap space. They will likely sign Hutchinson to a massive extension in the near future, but the front office can structure his new deal to incorporate Crosby's contract in the short term, though the budget will get tight in the years to come."
He added, "It's worth noting Crosby doesn't have any dead money on his contract beyond the 2026 season. Hutchinson's rookie deal runs through 2026. In 2027, the Lions can start to pay Hutchinson his new money and restructure Crosby's contract to make it all work under the salary cap."
This proposal gets a C+ grade at the moment. That's a pretty high draft pick to be relenting for Crosby, who hasn't looked completely like himself due to injuries over the last few years. He does have four sacks on the year, but those issues are always lurking under the surface for Crosby. This, coupled with the above noted cap space issues the team could be facing as a result of this deal, make it a non-starter. Still, it could be cool to bring Crosby back to Michigan.
The Dallas Cowboys were reportedly sniffing around a deal involving Crosby, but that rumor - shared by ESPN's Trey Wingo - has since gotten cold water thrown on it by the NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. That seems like a much likelier landing spot for Crosby, despite the rebuttal here from Pelissero.
With the return of McNeill, it's understandable that someone like Lopez would also be expendable. But, Lopez in addition to this large of a draft pick pot feels a bit too rich for our blood. Crosby could use a change of scenery, to be sure, but this deal doesn't scream "Brad Holmes." Perhaps it could be worth it simply to stop a team like the Philadelphia Eagles or Cowboys from getting better by adding him to their trenches. But, that's just not in Holmes' DNA.
Geno Smith Doesn’t Give Up: "Failure is a Valuable Lesson, Success Will Come When We Keep Pushing"

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith is no stranger to adversity. After a challenging start to the season, Smith’s resilience has been on full display as he continues to push forward with an unwavering commitment to his team, his fans, and his own personal growth. In a recent reflection, Smith shared his mindset on handling setbacks and how every failure is an opportunity to learn and grow.

Turning Setbacks into Lessons
For Smith, the challenges faced this season have only strengthened his resolve. Every defeat or setback is a lesson that pushes him to work harder and focus more on improvement. Belief in His Team
Despite the ongoing challenges, Smith remains confident in his own ability and the Seahawks’ collective potential. "I always keep faith in my abilities and in the team’s ability to bounce back," Smith said.
