Dak Prescott Could Become the Cowboys’ All-Time Statistical Leader by Season’s End
The Dallas Cowboys have had their share of legendary quarterbacks throughout their storied history — from Roger Staubach to Troy Aikman to Tony Romo. But as this season progresses, Dak Prescott is making a serious case to etch his name atop the franchise record books.
A graphic shown during the Cowboys’ 31–13 victory over the Atlanta Falcons highlighted just how close Prescott is to reaching the pinnacle of the team’s statistical charts. He currently ranks first in completion percentage (66.8%), first in quarterback rating (98.1), second in passing touchdowns (213), and third in passing yards (31,437). At the rate he’s going, he could surpass Romo and Staubach in several categories before the year is over.
This isn’t just about numbers, though. Prescott has been the driving force behind a Dallas offense that looks balanced, explosive, and confident. While critics have often questioned whether he could elevate the Cowboys to true Super Bowl contention, his recent performances are beginning to silence those doubts.
The Cowboys’ offense has thrived under his leadership. Not only is Prescott delivering on efficiency, but his decision-making has been sharper than ever. His chemistry with receivers like CeeDee Lamb has unlocked new dimensions in the passing game, and his ability to read defenses pre-snap has allowed Dallas to stay one step ahead.
When asked about climbing the Cowboys’ all-time rankings, Prescott remained humble yet focused.
“Records are nice, but they don’t mean anything if we’re not winning,” Prescott said. “I want to be remembered for bringing championships back to Dallas. If the stats come with that, then it just means I did my job the right way.”
The numbers, however, speak for themselves. If Prescott maintains his current pace, he could realistically finish the season as the Cowboys’ all-time leader in both touchdown passes and passing yards, cementing his place among the greatest in franchise history.
Cowboys fans have long debated whether Dak could carry the weight of being “the guy” in Dallas. With his consistent play and potential to rewrite the record books, that conversation may soon be over. For now, Prescott has his eyes firmly set on the ultimate prize: leading America’s Team back to the Super Bowl stage.
