Brock Purdy Declares His Toe Injury Won't Hold Him Back After 49ers' Win Over Giants

Brock Purdy made a bold statement after the San Francisco 49ers' victory over the New York Giants
“I'm fine. It’s not going to stop me,” Purdy said with confidence after the game. “I’ve played through injuries before, and this one won’t be any different. We’re just focusing on getting better and doing everything I can to help this team win.”
Purdy’s comments came after a performance that saw him continue to manage the offense effectively, leading the 49ers to a commanding win. Although the injury, which involves his toe, has raised concerns about his mobility and ability to perform at his best, Purdy made it clear that it wasn’t affecting his decision-making or execution on the field.
“It’s part of the game,” he continued. “Injuries happen. But I’m not going to let this slow me down. I’ve got the support of my teammates, and we’ve got a lot of work left to do this season.”
Purdy’s resilience has been a hallmark of his journey, from a surprise rookie starter to a key leader for the 49ers. His ability to overcome adversity, including a challenging postseason run last year, has earned him the trust of the coaching staff and his teammates.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan also spoke highly of Purdy’s leadership and determination. “Brock is a tough guy. He’s been dealing with this injury, but he’s not letting it affect his game. His ability to stay focused and play through pain is exactly what we need from our quarterback.”
As the 49ers look ahead to their upcoming games, the team’s confidence in Purdy remains high, with the young quarterback showing no signs of slowing down despite the toe injury. For now, it’s clear that nothing is standing in Purdy’s way as he continues to lead one of the NFL’s most talented teams.
“I’m ready for whatever comes next,” Purdy said. “Injuries are part of the game, but my focus is on this team and what we can accomplish together.”
