Chicago Bears trade shocker: D.J. Moore for Titans’ defensive powerhouse Jeffery Simmons!
Chicago Bears make bold move: D.J. Moore traded for Titans’ Jeffery Simmons
The Chicago Bears are taking significant strides in their quest for consistency on the football field. With a 2-2 record and coming off a bye week, the team is poised to face the Washington Commanders in a highly anticipated Monday Night Football matchup. Head Coach Ben Johnson has openly acknowledged in recent remarks that the offense is still a work in progress. However, there are promising signs, particularly with the offensive line showing marked improvement in protecting quarterback Caleb Williams.
Addressing Defensive Needs with a Trade
One of the Bears’ most pressing challenges this season has been their inability to stop the run effectively. A recent trade proposal has emerged that could address this issue, albeit at the potential cost of one of their key offensive contributors. Erik Lambert from Sports Mockery has presented a trade idea that could benefit both the Tennessee Titans and the Bears: sending wide receiver D.J. Moore to Tennessee in exchange for defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons.
Moore’s performance this season has seen him catch only 16 passes for 173 yards and a single touchdown, relegating him to the No. 2 receiver role behind Rome Odunze in the Bears’ offense. In contrast, Simmons has established himself as one of the premier defensive tackles in the league, earning three Pro Bowl selections since 2021 and already notching 3.5 sacks this season. The Titans, looking to bolster their offensive arsenal for quarterback Cam Ward, could find Moore a valuable addition.
Financial Implications of the Trade
This proposed trade would serve Chicago’s needs on multiple fronts. Not only would it help shore up their defensive line with a reliable run stuffer, but it would also allow the Bears to retain their draft capital. Simmons’ cap hit is approximately $4 million less than that of Moore, potentially opening avenues for the Bears to pursue further trades or free agency moves.
While Bears fans may be hesitant to part with Moore, his production has noticeably declined since his standout 2023 season, where he racked up 1,364 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. Last year, he fell short of the 1,000-yard mark, and current projections suggest he may not reach that milestone this season either.
As the Bears look forward to their upcoming games, the implications of this trade could reshape their approach to both offense and defense, setting the stage for an intriguing second half of the season.
Bengals Injury Report: Ja'Marr Chase limited with the near future in mind, Shemar Stewart returns

The Cincinnati Bengals have begun practicing for their upcoming road game against the Green Bay Packers, and there's more stories to watch than just Joe Flacco's arrival and debut.
Let’s take a look at where things stand on the Wednesday's injury report:

Observations
- Any time Ja'Marr Chase is on the injury report the red flags are raised, but Chase is just getting managed with a Thursday night game coming up in a week's time, as said by head coach Zac Taylor prior to Wednesday's practice.
- Left guard Dylan Fairchild (knee) was concerned about missing practice at the beginning of the week and he was a DNP Wednesday. Right Guard Lucas Patrick (calf) went limited in his first practice since being designated to return from the Reserve/Injured list, so if Fairchild can't play this week, there's hope for Patrick to potentially replace him, or provide needed depth at the guard position. Patrick still needs to be activated to the 53-man roster.
- Defensive end Shemar Stewart (ankle) practiced for the first time since Week 2. He only participated in individual drills in his first day back.

Observations
- Quite the laundry list of injuries, but only offensive tackle Anthony Belton (ankle) and defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt (knee) did not practice for Green Bay.
- Wide receiver Christian Watson (knee) is not yet on the Packers' 53-man roster, but he is practicing after he was designated to return from I.R.
