Charlie Sheen Opens Up About His Past Sexual Encounters With Men, Plus Aaron Shades His Recent Reunion With Denise as RHOBH Star Speaks Out
Charlie Sheen is opening up about his past sexual encounters with men in his new Netflix documentary, aka Charlie Sheen, and memoir, The Book of Sheen.
On the heels of the documentary’s recent premiere, which was attended by his ex-wife,
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Denise Richards, 54, much to the dismay of Denise’s estranged spouse, Aaron Phypers, 52, Charlie, 60, admitted that during his time using drugs, specifically crack cocaine, he decided to try something new and began having sex with men.
“I flipped the menu over,” he shared, via PEOPLE, adding that it was “f*cking liberating” to share.
“[The drug use] started it … That’s where it was born, or sparked. And in whatever chunks of time that I was off the pipe, trying to navigate that, trying to come to terms with it — ‘Where did that come from? … Why did that happen? — and then just finally being like, ‘So what?’ So what? Some of it was weird. A lot of it was f***ing fun, and life goes on,” he explained.
According to the report, Charlie also shared on Good Morning America that he was addicted to sex at the time he began sleeping with men, and chose to keep his sexual journey a secret because he was being extorted. As he explained, he felt it was easier to pay his partners to keep it quiet, even though it made him feel like a hostage.
As he continued to promote aka Charlie Sheen, which begins streaming next Wednesday, and The Book of Sheen, which hits stores Tuesday, Charlie, who went public with his HIV diagnosis in 2015, revealed he quit using drugs in 2015 and has been sober for eight years.
In other news, after Denise was seen supporting Charlie at his premiere, Aaron spoke out against her, accusing the RHOBH cast member of causing Charlie harm in the past.
“If Charlie knew how many of Denise’s paparazzi tip-offs caused him extreme embarrassment and pain, I don’t think he’d fake a smile for a second,” he told TMZ.
While Denise and Aaron are in the midst of a messy divorce, Denise and Charlie have never been better, as was evident in a post she recently shared on Instagram.
“We both looked at each other on the red carpet and just laughed. Charlie asked, ‘Is it 2002?’ and I said, ‘It sure feels like it.’ Who would have thought?” Denise wrote in the caption of a slideshow of photos of her and Charlie.
“What a journey we’ve had- so many ups and downs. But when life gets tough, deep down we both know we can count on each other. I’m so proud of him, and truly honored he asked me to be part of his story. Congrats, Charles,” she added.

Clifton spoke to Daytime Confidential on the red carpet at the 2025 Daytime Emmys. Clifton explained that Executive Producer and Head Writer Brad Bell had intended for Liam to die. “I was supposed to be on my way out. That was the plan,” Clifton said.
He admitted that it wasn’t a plot twist that would “trick” the audience, even though it felt like it. Viewers were shocked that Liam cheated death. In Clifton’s mind, he was preparing his “swan song” and “saying his goodbyes.” Regardless, he was “honored” to tackle this difficult storyline.
What’s Next For Liam Spencer?
