BREAKING: PATRIOTS EYE TRADE MARKET AS SECONDARY CRUMBLES
The New England Patriots have a cornerback problem. With Christian Gonzalez dealing with a nagging hamstring injury, and veteran Carlton Davis on and off the injury report, the Pats are one more injury away from being up
“While the Pats could probably use help at every level, K’Lavon Chaisson’s return to health at least perked up the pass rush,” writes Kevin Patra for NFL.com. “I still wouldn’t rule out adding an edge rusher in New England. The secondary has concerns, though, particularly at safety, after the Pats allowed the Saints to move up and down the field. The numbers would have looked worse than they did on Sunday for New England’s secondary if Chris Olave had come down with a few catchable deep shots.”
Here are three players to target in the next three weeks before the trade deadline.
Tariq Woolen Seattle Seahawks
Lets get this one out of the way now. Tariq Woolen is the biggest name on the trade block. The fourth-year corner was a forced to be reckoned with in his first three seasons with the team, but has shown some serious regression so far this season. In a deep Seattle cornerback room, he is considered expendable.
Additionally, Riq is in a contract year. This makes him the perfect rental for a team gearing up to make a playoff push.
He is the perfect player to come to New England, work into the rotation, and potentially stick around and earn a second contract in Foxboro. This is a base case scenario move.
Roger McCreary Tennessee Titans
Mike Vrabel is loyal to a fault. We saw it this offseason, when Vrabel was hired and turned this Patriots locker room into the New England Titans. This fourth-year corner follows that trend as a member of Vrabes’ 2022 draft class.
Fans will get a better look at the 5’11” corner this Sunday when Tennessee comes to town for a Week 7 show down. But if he impresses, expect a trade offer to be sent to the coach-less Titans.
“The 25-year-old defensive back is in a contract year. The Titans might be looking for a trade partner for the former Auburn star, as opposed to re-signing him,” writes Karen Guregian. “He’s primarily a nickel corner. The Patriots could use help behind Marcus Jones. The cupboard is pretty bare at that position.”
Alontae Taylor New Orleans Saints
This six-foot 200 pound corner is a beast. The former Tennessee Volunteer has been a bright spot on a sad Saints‘ season. He could also become a chess piece for the last place Saints as they begin to prep for 2026. He is a true outside corner and would help provide some serious depth in the room. Like the previous two, Taylor is in a contract year.
Plus the Patriots just spent a week preparing for him and were able to see him work live.
“Although little has been good about the Saints’ 2025 season, Taylor’s play has pointed upward,” reads a write up on Pro Football Focus. “This year, he’s produced a career-best 69.5 PFF coverage grade. What also aids his value is inside-outside versatility, having played 1,239 or more snaps on the outside and in the slot.”
Chiefs’ Loss to Jaguars Still Showcases Encouraging Fantasy Stats for Pacheco and Mahomes

The Kansas City Chiefs couldn't keep their win streak going in Monday Night Football's primetime showdown with the Jacksonville Jaguars. They experienced firsthand the breakout happening in Duval under new head coach Liam Coen, as Patrick Mahomes and the offense could only watch from the sidelines while Trevor Lawrence marched the Jags down 60 yards for a game-winning touchdown with just seconds left on the clock.
This game spoke more about Jacksonville's ascension than it did about the Chiefs' downfall. There was speculation about which of these two teams would prove to be true contenders this season in this matchup. Turns out, both of them did in a tightly contested back-and-forth nailbiter, with the Jaguars coming out on top, 31-28.
Kansas City fell to 2-3, but it got plenty of encouraging performances, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Here are some of the most revealing fantasy stats from the Chiefs' loss to the Jaguars.
Chiefs' offense continued to rise

1. 5 explosive runs
The Kansas City Chiefs' ground game was extremely disappointing to begin the 2025 NFL season. Most of their yards on the ground came from quarterback Patrick Mahomes. That trend continued against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but not exactly in a bad way.
Mahomes, Isiah Pacheco, and Kareem Hunt all notched at least one explosive run of 10+ yards each. As a team, they totaled 158 rushing yards on one of the better defenses in the league. With Xavier Worthy back to threaten their opponents downfield, the Chiefs have found it much easier to pound the rock on the ground.

2. Isiah Pacheco - 40 snaps
There was fear that Pacheco might be washed this season. It certainly looked that way in the first three games of the year. However, he's started to turn things around in his last two outings.
Against the Jaguars and the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4, he notched 71 yards on 14 carries for an impressive average of 5.1 per attempt. He also made his presence felt in the passing game, tallying five catches for 33 yards and a touchdown. He's been able to capitalize on his athletic tools much better with opposing defenses focusing on Worthy and the rest of the Chiefs' downfield weapons.
He tied his season high with 40 snaps in Jacksonville. It won't be surprising to see his usage and production continue to trend up as Kansas City's offense continues to find its rhythm.
