‘Bold and the Beautiful’ Star Insists He and Brother Aren’t ‘Special’ Despite Family Fame
Key Points
- 'The Bold and the Beautiful' star Clint Howard said that he and his brother, Ron Howard, aren't 'special' despite coming from a famous family. While Clint recently earned praise for his soap opera role, Ron has been known since his work as a child star for his roles on 'The Andy Griffith Show' and 'Happy Days.'
The Bold and the Beautiful star Clint Howard insisted that he and his famous brother, Ron Howard, are just normal people despite being well-know actors.
While Clint, 66, acknowledged that both he and Ron, 71, have been able to find success as actors, the soap opera star got real about how he actually views their family’s success. “I understand that, yeah, what Ron and I have done is very unique,” he previously told

In light of Clint and Ron’s success, the Happy Days alum’s daughter Bryce Dallas Howard has also been able to make a name for herself as an actor. However, Clint insisted that Bryce, 44, is just as great of a person as she is an actor and director.
“Bryce is a wonderful, wonderful person; great, great mother; great leader amongst her friends,” Clint said of his niece. “She’s directing now, and she likes to act, and she’s really humble about it all.”
Both Clint and Ron began their careers as child stars. While Ron was first introduced to audiences playing Opie Taylor on The Andy Griffith Show in 1960, Clint’s first major role was in 1967’s
In more recent years, Clint appeared in the movies The Old Way and Terrifier 3. Additionally, he guest starred as Tom Starr in 13 episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful
Following Clint’s nomination, Ron spoke to People in September about the major accomplishment. “I know he did a good job because people come up and talk to me about his performance on that,” he said of his younger brother.
“And so I saw one episode, I thought he was great,” Ron continued. “And it was one of those things where they brought him in for one episode and he wound up doing 10 or 12 of them.”
Ron, who has pivoted from an acting career to a directing career, was also asked if he ever gives Clint acting advice, though he said he doesn’t often need it after he books a job. “Oh, no, no. He’s just fun,” Ron said. “When I’m casting, I’m sure he gets notes, but when I’m watching him, I’m just enjoying my brother. He’s a very individual talent. Has his own cadence and vibe.”

Not only did Clint earn an Emmys nomination in 2025, but so did Ron. The eldest Howard brother earned the nod for his guest starring role as a satirically temperamental version himself on
While reflecting on his own nomination, Ron told People that it was a “fun surprise” to be included in the category.
“It never even crossed my mind because it was so beyond the realm of feasibility,” he said about the nomination at the time. “So this whole thing is an absolute gift — from out of nowhere. It’s really gratifying, really fun.”
Kyle Richards Says There Will Be Things Fans Will 'Not Expect' in RHOBH Season 15

Kyle Richards says Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans should get ready for some shake ups in the show’s upcoming 15th season.

Richards, 56, caught up with PEOPLE exclusively while attending the Anastasia Soare and Oprah Winfrey in Conversation at Raising Brows event in L.A. on Oct. 23. During the discussion, she said that viewers can expect some new faces and dynamics when the show returns to Bravo on Dec. 4.
“The dynamics between everybody has just changed so much, and things you just would not expect, and a lot of people are changing,” she teases.
Richards adds, “And we have a lot of new blood in the group, so I think the audience is going to be very excited this season.”
The reality star — who has been a part of RHOBH since the show's inception and has never skipped a season — also reveals whether she plans to retire from the series any time soon.

“Listen, that day obviously will come,” she says. “It's been a long time. Fifteen years. It really is. It’s a long time. I don't know how long this can go on, how long I can go on for.”

“There have been different times, season 5, I think maybe even before," she says, adding, "I can think of a number of seasons where I almost walked away."
Continuing, she adds, "But 15 years is a long time, and there's things I want to do, and it takes up a lot of time. And [my youngest daughter] Portia is going to college, so who knows."
Richards has previously opened up about the challenges of being on a hit reality show, noting that it can be difficult to live life under a microscope.
“I mean, it's very difficult for your life [to be] out there and have the world weighing in on analyzing things and people not knowing you know the full scope of full details,” she told PEOPLE while attending An Unforgettable Evening Benefiting the Women’s Cancer Research Fund event in Beverly Hills, Calif., in April.
“And judging you without being able to explain everything, it's very difficult. So it depends on what year and what season, whether I can handle it or not,” she added.
While speaking to PEOPLE at the recent Raising Brows event, Richards also provided an update on friend and former RHOBH castmate Teddi Mellencamp, 44, who recently revealed that her stage 4 cancer is in remission.

“Teddi is doing a lot better,” Richards says.
She continues, “She had posted on her Instagram Story that she's cancer free, so we just keep praying and keep her on that path. And she does struggle with getting depressed often, so sometimes it’s just about going over, just dragging her out of the house, honestly. When she doesn't really want to do anything, when she’s feeling down. And we just show up and say, ‘No, we're going to get frozen yogurt,’ or, ‘We're going on a walk.’ ”

“It's really, really crazy, but she's been so strong and such a trooper. I just have so much admiration for her," she adds.
