Bills QB Josh Allen Gets Surprising Snub After Loss to Falcons

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen got an unexpected dig thrown at him after the Atlanta Falcons game and loss.
The Buffalo Bills had a tough game against the against the Atlanta Falcons on October 13 for Monday Night Football, and they surprisingly lost, 24-14. Leading up to this game, the Bills were considered the team to beat in the NFL, and they’re still strong, but the loss raised a few eyebrows.
So, it’s time for the Bills to regroup and hopefully not let what happened to them on Monday happen again. What’s hurts even more is that the team’s MVP-winning quarterback Josh Allen just wasn’t quite on his toes, which is rare, but it’s impossible to hate on Allen. He’s a class act both on and off the field, and there’s no denying that he’s one of the best signal-callers in the league.
Now, the Bills have a bye week, and then, they’ll go up against the Panthers on Sunday, October 26. What stings is that following the loss to the Falcons, Allen has dropped quite a bit in quarterback power rankings. He deserves so much better.
Josh Allen in NFL Quarterback Tallies
Allen has taken a hit in the NFL quarterback rankings for Week 7. USA Today has him at No. 7, down all the way from No. 2 just a week ago. That seems like a hug snub and big fall from last week.
“On Monday night, the Falcons blitzed Allen more than any team has since 2021 – a 56% clip according to Next Gen Stats. The result was a season-low 57.7% completion rate and a season-high two interceptions,” Jack McKessy of USA Today notes in the piece out on Wednesday, October 15.
What hurts is that McKessy has Patrick Mahomes at No. 1. “Mahomes’ average depth of target in Week 6 was 5.1, the lowest mark this season by far, and he still threw for 257 yards and three touchdowns,” McKessy says of the rival team’s signal-caller. “Mahomes also continues to be the Chiefs‘ lead rusher, with his 222 rushing yards ranking third among all quarterbacks.”
But, all is not lost. CBS Sports knows what’s up, because they still have Allen as No. 1. “He didn’t have a game to write home about in a surprise loss to the Falcons, the Bills’ second straight prime-time slip-up,” Cody Benjamin notes in an article published on Wednesday, October 15. “He’s still the most dangerous playmaker at the position, especially when Lamar Jackson isn’t suiting up.”
Buffalo Bills Break a Record
In off the field news that will warm your heart, on October 9, the Bills announced some good news on their Buffalo Bills Foundation.
“To combat hunger in our community, the Buffalo Bills Foundation and Wegmans teamed up for their annual Huddle for Hunger initiative,” they stated on their website. “In 2025, a record-breaking 65,100 pounds of food were donated to the 2025 Huddle for Hunger Community Food Drive to support FeedMore WNY and its nearly 400 hunger-relief partners throughout Erie, Niagara, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties.”
They added, “This year’s Huddle for Hunger totals exceeded the previous record by more than 27,000 pounds. The annual Huddle for Hunger Drive is made possible through the partnership of the Buffalo Bills Foundation and Wegmans.”
So, major congratulations are in order for the Bills. It’s wonderful to see the giving back.
Broncos best option to start alongside Dre Greenlaw is painfully obvious

The Denver Broncos announced that they have designated inside linebacker Dre Greenlaw to return from the Injured Reserve list, where he has been since Week 3 due to a quad injury. Broncos Country finally got the injury update they have been waiting for. One of their top free-agent acquisitions is closer to making his debut in orange and blue. Will it be on Sunday against the Giants? We do not know, but the good news is that he is back in practice and did not have any setbacks.
One of Denver's top priorities heading into the offseason was the inside linebacker position. They addressed it in free agency by signing former 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw to a 3-year, $34 million deal. Greenlaw is a force in the middle of the defense when healthy. In 64 games over six years with San Francisco, he recorded 455 tackles, 3 interceptions, 14 pass breakups, 3.5 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles. Greenlaw is an experienced linebacker who will bring a lot of energy to this young Broncos defense led by Vance Joseph. It's a significant upgrade when he's on the field compared to what the team has had recently.
Dre Greenlaw's return leads to a big and very important question...Who starts alongside him?
Broncos' best option to start alongside Dre Greenlaw is Justin Strnad
Greenlaw, when healthy, is a monster. He should be an instant starter at the inside linebacker position. Now the big question is who starts alongside him. My answer would be Cody Barton, but he left Denver in free agency and signed a one-year deal with the Tennessee Titans. This leads to veterans Alex Singleton and Justin Strnad (the actual starting tandem).
Singleton is an experienced veteran who is very liked inside Denver's locker room. He is a team captain and currently leads the Broncos in tackles with 51. The concern with Singleton is that he is getting older and is coming back from a Torn ACL suffered in Week 3 of the 2024-25 season against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Despite leading the team in tackles, Singleton looks slow, which makes sense following that injury, and has been burnt by opposing players, noting significantly Saquon Barkley's touchdown in week 5 on a wheel route. Singleton has missed lots of tackles.
On the other hand, there is Justin Strnad, who, believe it or not, has been one of the team's breakout players so far in the 2025-26 season. He currently has 3.5 sacks, 3 tackles for loss, and one pass breakup. He is a solid inside linebacker who, in the past, was a solid special teams player at best, and now, in my opinion, he is the one who should start alongside Dre Greenlaw. Strnad is a more dynamic and faster player compared to Singleton. I would not be surprised if Denver tries to trade Singleton, who is set to become a free agent at the end of the season.
Denver has Drew Sanders, who is currently injured, and also has Levelle Bailey and Karene Reid.
